The Kobe Shimbun’s morning edition carried an article about the school’s “Liberal Arts Day. This is one of the 17 seminars (lectures) in which students use newspapers to think about the news as their own personal matters and consider various issues in society. In addition, students usually read the “Asahi Chugakusei Shimbun” in their junior high school classes and write their impressions in their notebooks, continuing efforts to improve their ability to express themselves. In the future, we can see the students learning the basics in junior high school and developing into practical learning in the high school seminar. We are pleased to introduce some of our school’s initiatives in this issue.

5月30日付の神戸新聞朝刊に、本校の「リベラルアーツ・デー」の記事が掲載されました。これは、17ゼミ（講座）の一つに、新聞を活用してニュースを自分事として考え、社会の様々な問題について考える学習となっています。

講師は神戸新聞社の記者などの方々が、毎回新たなテーマを用意され、私たちの知的好奇心と探究心を高めてくださいます。学習の流れとして、多様な視点で情報に触れることを前提としながらも、生徒は興味を持った記事を選び、感想を発表し合う姿があります。

本校では、普段から中学部の授業で「朝日中高生新聞」を読み感想をノートに書いています。さらには、学習成果を各自が新聞様式にまとめるなど表現力を高める取り組みを継続しています。今後は、中学生で基礎を学び、高校生ゼミで実践的な学びに発展する様子が見えてきます。
