The “Sports Festival” practice began on April 25. The teams are divided into six squads, with all students divided into these squads at random. Each squad had a captain, vice-captain, and cheer leader who would stay close to the squad students and guide them. The students are the stars of the event, and during the practice sessions, the sense of unity and closeness among the students transcended the boundaries of school and grade level.

4月25日から始まった「体育祭」練習ですが、空模様の気になる日が続いていました。今日は久しぶりの快晴で、少し練習の様子を見学しました。

集団づくりは全校生徒をアトランダムに縦割りにし、中国伝説上の生き物とされる青龍、朱雀、白虎などに名付けた6隊に分けて競い合うという形でした。

それぞれの隊には、隊長・副隊長、応援団長がおり、隊員生徒に寄り添いながら指導します。行進や応援合戦は審査を経て、優秀隊には表彰があるため、競争心と団結力が高まるようです。

行進練習では、隊長を中心に上級生が下級生・中学生を鼓舞するように声を出し指導している元気な様子を見ることができました。指導者が前に出ることなく、「主役は生徒たち」が色濃く出ている行事で、校種・学年を越えた生徒のまとまりと親近感が溢れ出ていました。これからは、様々な演技種目の練習に入ります。
